Suntex Marinas, an owner and operator of marina properties, announced today the acquisition of CrossTimbers Marina in Oklahoma. Just 18 miles north of Tulsa, the property is situated in a deep‐water cove along the eastern shore of Skiatook Lake. The 11th largest lake in Oklahoma, it is a popular boating and fishing destination.
A sanctuary for both avid and casual boaters, CrossTimbers Marina is considered the most prestigious marina destination in Northeast Oklahoma. Incorporating the finest docks in the industry, built to meet the highest environmental, safety and design standards, the marina is a professionally managed, state-of-the-art facility. Slip holders are provided 24-hour gated security, private restrooms with shower, and dock attendants are available to assist with fueling and pump-out services. Day guests have full access to a land-based marine store offering nautical sportswear and products, an award-winning dining experience at the Lakeside Grill, as well as the ability to captain their own craft by renting a variety of stylish, high-quality boats.
“This is an exciting period of growth for the Suntex family,” said Chris Petty, principal of Suntex Marinas. “We are very particular about the properties that we add to our portfolio and only consider high-quality resorts with a proven track record. Developed by Ron Howell and managed by Dustin Huff, CrossTimbers built up a healthy member-base and has tremendous potential for expansion. It is a truly unique location for our members to visit and experience.”
Suntex Marinas, which has interests in 11 states, has purchased the resort’s 517-slips, marine store, restaurant, dock shop, service building, trailer storage and rental cottages. Suntex will continue to invest in the physical assets of the facility, as well as new rental boats, amenities and events to expand and enhance the overall customer experience. Upgrades to the marine store with increased merchandise are already planned and management intends to add a Suntex Boat Club next season.
Suntex adds the CrossTimbers property to its current portfolio of 29 marinas in Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee and St. Maarten
